From time to time we run projects relating to specific areas of interest,  for example our current project in Mile Cross Norwich.  This is the second time we have worked in Mile Cross. The first time was in partnership with the Health Shop in the Library.

Now we are focusing on hearing the voices of older people who are in sheltered housing and residential homes. We share memories in reminiscence sessions and afterwards record individual stories.  We are planning to involve young people from the Phoenix Centre in practical activities.  We have received funding from The National Lottery Awards for All.

In the past year we have had a long-term project at Gressenhall Farm & Workshop Museum of Norfolk Life.  As part of the improvement of facilities for the old laundry we were asked to record memories from people who worked in Beech House when the laundry was still operational.  From a small amount of information our volunteers located a number of ex staff who were pleased to be involved and interviewed.

In North Walsham we joined in an inter-generational project in partnership with the local junior school and residents from a residential home.  The older people who had high support needs visited the school over a period of five weeks and shared their memories of their working lives with the children.  The children in turn showed them how to create a powerpoint presentation from this material.  Both old and young enjoyed this experience which was enlivened by a session with a local historian and shared photographs.
